LEGAL & PRIVACY
GDPR and Data Rights Policy
Effective
This policy explains how to exercise data protection rights where the EU GDPR applies and provides a common contact route for other privacy laws. UK rights are handled under the applicable UK rules. Read it with the Privacy Policy.
United States processing
War Guardian's primary service hosting and processing is in the United States. Where GDPR applies, this location does not remove our data protection obligations. See the Privacy Policy and supplier register for processing locations and international transfer safeguards.
Making a request
Email [email protected]. Tell us the right you want to exercise, your relevant account or player identifier, the community or server if known, and enough detail to locate the information. No special form, payment or War Guardian account is required. Do not send a government identity document unless we explain why a proportionate verification step is needed. We prefer verification through an existing authenticated account where available.
What you can ask for
You may request a copy of your personal data and information about its use; correction of factual errors; deletion or restriction where the legal conditions apply; and objection to processing based on legitimate interests. Portability applies to qualifying automated processing based on consent or a contract. You may withdraw consent for processing that relies on it. Where applicable, you may challenge a qualifying automated decision and seek human intervention.
Response and review
For EU GDPR requests, we respond within one month. Where legally justified by complexity or the number of requests, we may take up to two additional months and tell you why within the first month. Requests are ordinarily free. Any lawful refusal or fee will be explained with its reasons and your complaint options. Requests concerning community-controlled records are routed promptly to that controller; routing is not a reason to disregard a deadline.
We protect other people's information when supplying a copy. Where required, we notify recipients of corrections, deletions or restrictions. We explain any specific legal exception or justified hold rather than imposing a blanket refusal for moderation records. The anonymized kill feed archive cannot be linked back to you; identifiable kill feed records and Steam information remain subject to applicable rights.
Complaints
You can ask us to reconsider a response at [email protected]. You may also contact a competent regulator or pursue an available legal remedy. EEA residents can use the EDPB authority directory; UK residents can contact the ICO. Community staff must preserve these rights regardless of account suspension, a server ban or subscription cancellation.
